In 1980, he began studying at the Academy of Music. Stanisław Moniuszko in Gdańsk, initially in the violin class of prof. Stefan Herman, and from 1981 in the class of prof. Mirosława Pawlak, under whose supervision he graduated.
During his studies, he honed his skills with Yfrah Neaman, Wladimir Avramov and Rainer Kussmaul.
In 1985, he started working at his alma mater. In the years 2003-2005 he was the Vice-Dean, in the years 2005-2012 - the Dean of the Instrumental Faculty, and in the years 2012-2016 and 2016-2020 he was the Rector. Currently, he is the Head of the Violin and Viola Department and a member of the Council of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. Stanisław Moniuszko in Gdańsk for the 2021-2024 term.
He is a promoter in doctoral dissertations, a reviewer in proceedings for the award of the degree of habilitated doctor and in proceedings for the award of the title of professor. He has been invited to juries of violin and chamber music competitions many times.
He performed as a soloist (including with the orchestra of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk), a chamber musician (in the ensemble "Trio Nowe"), and an orchestral musician (with many orchestral ensembles in Poland and abroad, including the "Heidelberger Sinfoniker", "Kammerphilharmonie St. Petersburg" or "Hanse Compagnie", giving concerts with these ensembles in Europe, South America, Asia and the USA).
For his activities, he was awarded the Knight's Order of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
